Two definitions with the same acronym expansion; one historical, one business:

(1) When ARPANET (the historic beginning of today's Internet) was started it was divided into two networks: MILNET and ARPANET. The ARPANET portion was designed to support advanced research needs and MILNET was designed to serve the needs of the military.

(2) The site MILNET.COM represents the MILNET project. This project is designed to provide a comprehensive database for use by authors seeking information for realistic works of fiction.
