DVD - Digital Versatile (Video) Disc

(D-V-D)

A form of CD-ROM with greatly increased capacity (minimum of 4.7GB, maximum of 17BG and access rates from 600Kbps to 1.3MBps). The capacity allows enough coded video for full-length movies. A DVD drive is generally able to read CD-ROM discs.
