UNIX - Universal Interactive eXecutive

(une-ex)

A multiuser and multitasking operating system developed by AT&T in the early 1970s. There are a number of proposed expansions of UNIX (including no expansion). I favor the one above, but probably the most interesting is:

United Nightly In Xerophagy, derived from a word for the early Christian practice of fasting with dry foods; extended to late-night eating of Cheetos, a snack food in the United States programmers of that period tended to like. (If you're looking for xerophagy in your dictionary, you'll likely need the Oxford English Dictionary, that's where I had to look to verify it[Smile]- or subsequently, on the Internet hereWeb Link.)
