Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000

A United Kingdom law that grants the government broad powers to access E-mail and other encrypted Internet communications. Basically, all data traffic in the UK will be routed through the Government Technical Assistance Center (a branch of MI5, the equivalent of the U.S. FBI). Encryption keys, or equivalent decrypted data must be provided on demand.
