Rambus DRAM
(R-D ram)
A fast access memory type developed by Rambus, Inc. Speeds up to 600MHz with sustained transfer rates of about 1,000 Mbps are anticipated (versus a more normal 100MHz and 200 Mbps for some current RAM types). Even faster versions are being developed.
