Random Access Memory Digital-to-Analog Converter
(ram-dac)
Typically a chip on a video adapter card. Its purpose is to convert digital images into signals that can be displayed by an analog monitor. A RAMDAC typically has a section of SRAM to store the color info and three DACs to convert the red, green, and blue signals.
