Developed by Adobe, PDF is designed to make documents portable across platforms. Documents are represented in a manner independent of the original file-creation application. PDF files will display page by page just like reading a book, yet can have hyperlinks embedded in them so users can jump around as necessary. PDF readers are available for all major operating systems.
