Personal Computer Memory Card International Association
(P-C-M-C-I-A)
A group of vendors who came up with the specification for the credit card-sized adapter cards that are used mainly for notebook computer expansion. There are three card types: I, II, and III with the first being the smallest and third, the largest. Because nobody could pronounce the acronym the term PC Card is most often used to describe these cards now.
