Predictive, Proactive, and Preventive Philosophy
(three-pee)
Somtimes called Reliability Centered Maintenance, 3P incorporates a cost-effective mix of predictive, proactive, preventive, and reactive maintenance practices. Basically, you attempt to predict where maintenance will be most needed and proactively fix that area in order to prevent the need for more extensive maintenace. By doing this, the theory is that you will prevent breakdowns which are ultimately more costly than the 3P maintenance costs.
