Network BIOS Extended User Interface

(net-booey)

An enhanced version of NetBIOS used primarily by Microsoft LAN products (it was developed by IBM and extended by Microsoft and Novell). Don't confuse NetBEUI with NetBIOS. The latter is an application programming interface and not a transport protocol.
