Novell Directory Services
(N-D-S)
An X.500 directory structure for Novell Netware networks. The NDS is basically an index to all network devices so users can access them by name instead of physical location. The directory structure is hierarchical and objects can only belong to a specific "container" (branch). The description of rules and properties of the directory is called a schema.
