Megabits per second

(M-B-P-S)

Measure of data transmission rate. Technically, it is 1,024 Kilobits or 1,048,576 bits per second for one megabit per second; but, 1,000,000 bits is often assumed when transmission is being talked about. Be certain to understand the context. (Also see Kbps.)
