Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory
(E-E-prom)
A form of read-only memory than can be electrically erased (as opposed to other ROM that might only be erased by ultra-violet light - see EPROM) and then reprogrammed in place. This type of ROM might be used for the computer's BIOS in case changes might be necessary.
