Electrochemical Double-layer Capacitor
(E-D-L-C)
A storage capacitor type often used in place of a battery. In power it is between high-energy, low-power batteries and low-energy, high-power electrolytic capacitors. EDLCs have a wide operating temperature range and can be cycled many times at faster charge/discharge rates when compared with batteries.
