Data Exchange File (Format)
(D-X-F)
A CAD graphics file format created by AutoDesk but supported by almost all CAD products on personal computers. A DXF file is basically an ASCII file where the 2D and 3D components represent a drawing. Each of the componenets is called an Entity. Entities can be connected and/or used as standalone items in a file.
