Bandwidth-delay Product
(B-D-P)
Displayed in either bytes or packets, this is a number representing a network bandwidth times the latency in the network. The BDP is used when figuring out proper router queue sizing. The formula for BDP can be expressed as:
BDP = RTT * C
The RTT is the round-trip time and C is the bandwidth in kilobits per second (note, that's bits, not bytes).
