Acknowledge Character
(ack)
The character transmitted to acknowledge receipt of a transmission and a readiness to accept more characters. ASCII character #6 (code 0x06) (EBCDIC character #46) is typically used. The control code is derived from ISO 646, the standard that specifies 7-bit character codes, including ASCII.
